What We Believe

Our Beliefs
We believe that there is only one God, who exists eternally. He reveals Himself to us in three distinct but equally divine persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. While we cannot fully comprehend His divine nature, it is possible for us to know Him. Throughout history, He has expressed His desire to be our God and to have a personal, eternal relationship with us. We believe that God loves us and wants what is best for us.
We believe that Jesus is the Son of God. He chose to become a human. He lived a sinless life and was crucified. But, He rose from the dead! His life paid the penalty for our sins, so we can live with Him in eternity. We believe that He will come to Earth again and complete His plan.
We believe the Holy Spirit comes to live in every person once they make the decision to follow Jesus. The Holy Spirit gives us the power to live the way God wants us to live. And, the Holy Spirit that lives in a Christ follower is the same Holy Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead.
The Bible (Old and New Testament) is the Word of God. It was written by humans who were inspired by the Holy Spirit. He communicated through these writers the values, principles, and ideals which please Him and are in our best interests. We believe the Bible is entirely accurate, complete, and reliable. We believe that the Bible is God’s living Word, so we look to it for understanding of God’s character and final authority on all matters of faith and conduct.
If you trust that Jesus is the Son of God and that through his death and resurrection He provides the only way for you to have a relationship with God and you want Jesus to lead your life, then you believe. That means you have a next step, and that’s baptism.
Baptism does not make you a Christian. It’s the public way people in the New Testament expressed their belief in and commitment to Jesus Christ. The example we see in the Bible demonstrates that first a person is to believe in Christ and then he or she is baptized as an expression of that belief.
